SELinux Compatibility Question

#1

Just starting to explore Rock, but I noticed that it’s built to run with SELinux. Does this mean that underlying source code of the various components (i.e. Kafka, ELK, etc.) had to be modified to run on SELinux?

#2

Certainly not.

SELinix, as I’m sure you know, allows for context to be applied that preserves the security provided by SELinux.

This allows non-standard configurations, but explicitly allowed for specific functions, to operate.

I hope this helps.
